3 Secrets to Success

February 14, 2015

Last week, I shared a quote by Dwayne Johnson aka 'The Rock'
"In 1995 I had $7 bucks in my pocket and knew two things. I'm broke as hell and one day I won't be".
I received a few questions and emails in regards to this quote,
How can I reach such a mindset?
How can I motivate myself and go from unsuccessful to successful?

We live in a world where thousands have this delusional thought that all successful people 'Have to Have'. I won't lie! Even I used to believe, to be successful in life, you had to be rich, you had to always have the best grades at school, you had to have the best of everything. To a certain extent, it's an advantage, but not a necessity.

Little did I know at that time that most successful people carve their way to success. I've known of people who have been pampered, showered with love, given everything all their lives, but today they're still looking for the key to success. Riches does not guarantee success. Very often those who lived through poverty, felt ultimate pain, abuse of all kind and bullied are those who become extremely successful and contribute the most to society. Here's proof of it!

The big question here is "What is it that shapes us?"
The common mindset is that we are our past. Society often thinks biography is destiny.

Past = Future
NO it's not!
You can turn your life around at any point in time, If you want to!

Let's assume you have worked for a company and failed in several projects. You get fired. You later realize where you went wrong, take a step back, work harder in the areas you previously failed and emerge stronger than ever. You start applying for jobs, but your past records overshadows your chances at securing a job. You are not given a chance to redeem yourself. You are not given an opportunity to prove that you're worth it and you're excellent at what you do. You feel stuck, depressed. Do you hold on or give up? You will come across hundreds of obstacles in your lifetime. Life is simple but it isn't meant to be easy. Tough times tests our patience and resilience. One has to be worthy of success.

Here's 3 secrets to success:-

Deciding is the indispensable first step to getting anything done in this world.  Does that sound obvious and simple to you? Unfortunately it's does not for thousands out there. Many people have a tough time deciding what they want or they simply couldn't be bothered and let life happen to them. I implore you to make an effort and bring a change in your life.

Don't sit there, allowing life to dictate how it all turns out to be for you. Decide what you want and do what it takes to achieve it.

Let's assume you're on the lookout for your soul mate. You want somebody who'd love you unconditionally but you sit there waiting for that person to walk through the door. none of it will concretize if you don't make up your mind having a clear image about the kind of partner you want and how you want your day to day life to unfold with that person.

If you see a chance to make your dream come true, decide fast,  get off that couch and make things happen. Everything you want in life is just a step away....all you have to do is decide in which direction to step. Are you scared of taking the wrong decision? Even better! A mistake is a blessing in disguise. It will guide you to make an informed decision next time. Learn from your mistakes and move on! If you want to look back on your life with pride and satisfaction, Decide Now!

Believe and it will happen. Do you know, the louder and clearer you project what you want, the better it influences your reality, becoming self fulfilling prophecies? As The Rock says "I'm broke as hell and one day I won't be", he must have said so with such conviction and belief, knowing he would break that cycle of being broke one way or the other. There's no way out.

You have to believe without a doubt. We can't control everything that happens to us in life. But we can surely control most situations and make them work in our favor.

I'll put it out clear here. Believing in such a way to attract the things that you want, has nothing to do with magic or god...it's basic psychology. It's all in your mind.

Everything you need is out there in the universe, all you need to do is send out the right command wrapped in belief. Here's an excerpt from The Secret written by Rhonda Brynne where self-help expert James Ray (pg 45-46) begins by comparing the story of Aladdin to the law of attraction.

He says the Universe is our Genie who's always ready to grant us what we ask. But it's impossible for the Universe to know what we want unless we make up our minds, strongly believe in our goals and ask what we want with conviction.

Real commitment comes naturally when you love what you do. I have reached a stage in my life, where I honestly will never commit to things I don't like. Hence, before you make a commitment, ask yourself these questions,

  • Is this truly something I want to commit to?
  • Is it going to help me with my overall self development?
  • Will it be worthwhile in the long run?

If your answers to the above questions are YES! Awesome!

Go ahead and commit! If not, take some time and revisit your goals, plans and strategies.
Once you make up your mind, knowing what you want, commit yourself to achieving it. Any major task in life takes time and commitment. Don't get discouraged or distracted. Be persistent, grateful and never stop learning.  While you commit yourself, improve upon your weaknesses until they become your strengths.

You will be a force to be reckoned with!

This is how I bring the things I want in my life. You can too. Decide, Believe and Commit.
Give these a try, putting in the required effort and faith! I bet you will be UNSTOPPABLE!
